History
Family Christian School began its first year of operation during the 2004-2005 academic year with Preschool and Kindergarten. Early childhood classes are a necessity in today's society. Children are required to know much more before they even enter Kindergarten. For this reason, we focus on giving these children a good educational foundation.
Grades 1 and 2 were added for the 2005-2006 academic year. Grades 3 thru 5 were added for the 2006-2007 academic year. We also added a new library and introduced the Accelerated Reader Program during this year. From 2007-2009 we expanded once again to include grades 6, 7, and 8. This upcoming year 2009-2010, FCS High School is now including 9th grade.
We are dedicated to building a Christian school that is top notch in academics, music programs and instrument instruction, learning labs, arts and technology programs, athletics and more.
Helping children reach their God-given destiny was just one reason the school was established. We believe that every child is chosen and called of God for a specific purpose and we seek to nurture the individuality, creativity and talents in each of our students. Our tuition costs are considerably lower than other Christian and private schools in Jackson, nonetheless, our academics and quality of teachers are top notch.
We are an interdenominational, multi-cultural school. Our classrooms provide individualized learning and instruction, The environment is nurturing and family friendly. We offer enrichment instruction in Spanish, computer, art music, and physical education beginning in Preschool. We pride ourselves in our commitment to educate the whole child. Family Christian School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality religion, or ethnic origin.
In order to make room for growth, Family Christian School will open our new school facility for the 2009-2010 academic year, located directly behind our current facility. This facility will house all of our classrooms (Preschool-9th Grade), as well as, our school offices and library. A new elementary playground will be constructed and our preschool playground moved and refurbished.
